The most industrialized city in Colombia is Itagui. Hence, it is also called as “La Ciudad Industrial.” This city is a part of the Metropolitan area of Medellin. It is a municipality and town in Antioquia Department, Colombia. Itagui is linked with other municipalities in the Medellin Metropolitan area like Sabaneta, La Estrella, Girardota, Envigado, Copacabana, Caldas, Bello and Barbosa. Apart from Envigado, Itagui is the sole municipality in Colombia that has higher revenue from taxes. As these taxes have exceeded expectations in the past ten years, Itagui has managed to develop a great infrastructure and currently it is one of the premier cities in Colombia.
The population of Itagui is 0.22 million within a very small area making it the most densely populated municipality.
The average yearly temperature of the city is around 22 degrees Celsius. As it is close to the equator, there are minimum temperature variations and the temperature is constant throughout the year. There is a pleasant spring like climate throughout the year.
