Leticia can be described as a city located in ‘Republic of Colombia’. Moreover, it’s the capital of ‘department’ of ‘Amazonas’. Also, it’s the southernmost town lying in Colombia; along with being the sole major port along the river.
Leticia stands at 96 meters over sea level; with average temperature of around 27 degree C. This place has been shipping point of Colombia since long; thanks to tropical fishes which are used for aquarium trade.
In the year 1934, border dispute which involved Leticia got settled by none other than ‘League of Nations’ following Colombia-Peru War.
Climate of Leticia is quite hot; with average maximum temperature being 31 degree Celsius; and minimum being 21 degree Celsius. The month of May witnesses maximum rainfall; i.e. around 219 mm.
The population of Leticia has been estimated to be 37000. This region is developing fast. Since its settlement, this place has been away from all the clashes.
