Pasto is situated in southwest Colombia. It is the capital of the department of Narino and is officially referred to as San Juan de Pasto. The altitude of the city is 2527 meters above sea level. It is located at the foot of the Galeras volcano on the Andes cordillera in the Atriz Valley. This culture of the city is affected by the trade and commerce with nearby Ecuador. The society here is mainly involved in the manufacturing of furniture and the production of dairy products. The city is the center of an agricultural region. From the 2nd to the 6th of January every year, the Blacks and Whites Carnival is celebrated in this city. During this festival, the city becomes completely wild and releases all the joy that has been held throughout the year.
