Tourist Guide Pereira
The city of Pereira is the capital city of the Risaralda department of Colombia. It stands in the western part of the country and is located in a small valley surrounding the mountainous ranges of Andes with an elevation of about 4650 feet above the sea level. The total population of the city was found to be 576,329 according to the 2004 census and is regarded to be the twelfth most populous city in Colombia. The total area of the city has been found to be 242.3 square miles according to the Census Bureau. It is the major coffee producing area which makes it a metropolis in Colombia. More than 95%25 of the population follows Christianity whereas the other religions followed in less proportion include Judaism, Hinduism, Islam and Buddhism. The city experiences a semi-wet tropical savannah climate with average temperature between 24°C and 27°C. The city experiences two seasons that is rainy season and dry season due to the trade winds, each of which lasts for a period of six months.
