Salinas, situated in the Province of Santa Elena, Ecuador, is a coastal city and is a famous tourist centre. The city is divided into four town parishes, which includes Vicente Rocafuerte, Santa Rosa, Carlos Espinoza Larrea and Alberto Enriquez Gallo. The economy of this city is largely based on tourism. The famous tourist destination in Ecuador is the beach of Salinas and it lies on the Pacific Ocean with a normal temperature of 80 degree Fahrenheit. Punta Carnero, Mar Bravo, Chipipe, Las Palmeras and San Lorenzo are the beaches that are found near Salinas. The well-liked tourist activities include sunbathing on the beach, sky diving, yachting, water skiing, wake-boarding and game fishing. Salinas offers a number of cafes and restaurants on its footpath and artisan crafts markets. The city also includes a small marine archeological museum with relics from pre- Columbian Ecuador.
