Tourist Guide Tena
Tena, a quiet and attractive city in the Amazon rainforest and is the capital of the Napo Province and is renowned as the Ecuador’s cinnamon capital. Tena was founded formerly by missionary explorers and has developed into one of the apex industrialized centers of the country. It is the home to many tourist related businesses, a major regional hospital, a vital bus terminal and a small airport. The climate of Tena is surprisingly cooler and comfortable than the tropical forest to the east as it lies 500 meters above sea level. There is year-round rainfall with a yearly average of 171.65 inches. Tena experiences the heaviest rains in April, May and June. Tena is popular for the rivers and rainforest that border it. The entry to Tena is marked by the monument of the native hero Jumandy. There is a frequent bus service to Tena and a small airport outside the town. Truck- Taxis, which are small and yellow, are found in abundance in the city.
