Concepción is the capital city of the Concepción Department which is located in northern Paraguay. It lies on the eastern banks of the Paraguay River. The city was founded in the year 1773 by Agustin Fernando de Pinedo, the Spanish Governor. It has a total area of 8.490 square kilometer with an altitude of 44 meter.
