No other place in the Central department is as populated as San Lorenzo. The place is a major centre for commercial activities. Hence many peoples came and started settling down in this place which increased the population of the place. As per the latest records, the population of San Lorenzo is 227876 people.  It has a growing education system. The National University of Asuncion is placed in San Lorenzo. San Lorenzo experiences a sub tropical climate. The summers are hot to warm and annual rainfall is between 1250 millimeters to 1750 millimeters. The average temperature of San Lorenzo varies between 70 and 83 degree Fahrenheit. The Silvilo Pettirossi international airport in Asunción is the nearest airport for San Lorenzo.
