Situated on the outskirts of town, just east of Cuzco's city center, is the neighborhood of Kcari Grande. Local Peruvians recognize this area as the last stop before a beautiful ascension into the Rumiwasi archeological site. The trails leading up to this area also offer breath-taking scenery, as they meander through beautiful South American hills.
Also north of Kcari Grande is the famous archeological site known as Kallachaka. Both Rumiwasi and Kallachaka demonstrate the extreme ingenuity of the Incas, as you can observe by the meticulously hand crafted stone walls that remain intact, even after the excavation process.
The neighborhood itself is a residential area that is built right into the hills of western Cuzco. The main road leading into Kcari Grande is Av De La Cultura, and the area can also be reached by Collasuyo. Check this place out if you are considering moving to Cuzco, as it's quiet, gorgeous, and densely packed with houses and other domiciles.
