The nation celebrates Labour Day on 1 May which is followed by Independence Day celebrations on 28 and 29 July. Día de Santa Rosa de Lima is celebrated on 30 August. Immaculate Conception is on 8 December.
Peru hosts several events that have social and cultural themes. The nation hosts the Virgen de la Candelaria which honours the patron of Puno. It also celebrates Fiesta de la Vendimia with dance, music and parades. Corpus Christi and Inti Raymi are celebrated all over the nation, in the month of June. The bullfighting season is held at Rimac, the oldest bullring in the United States.
