Sayacmarca has one entrance, a stairway up to the small city, this historic site is known as a fortress.
One can see two parts here, a solar observation post, which is the temple of the Sun and another being a residential half. This historic site was first discovered by Hiram Bingham, after following an Inca road across the hills from Machu Picchu.
The site is built at a fork in the old Inca road and the trail follows one fork to Machu Picchu with other fork descending to the Aobamba Picchu.
