Huayna Picchu is also known by the name Wayna Picchu meaning “Young Peak”. This mountain in Peru is worth visiting in Machu Picchu, the well known “lost city of the Incas”.
On its top, the Incas built many temples and terraces. The peak is 2,720 meters above sea level and the number of visitors who can enter this place is restricted to 400.
Many can climb the steep leading to the summit through steel cables via ferrata. As some of the portions leading to Huayna Picchu are slippery, during the rainy season, the tours are closed. Once atop the Huayna Picchu, one can admire the beautiful view over Machu Picchu.
