Tourist Guide Urubamba
Urubamba is a small town situated beside the Urubamba River in Peru. The town is situated near the ruins of the Inca Empire. The town is situated one hour from Cusco. The Urubamba town is the largest town situated in the Sacred Valley and is often visited by the visitors on their way to the historical site, Machu Picchu. Urubamba looks like a ‘functional’ town as compared to the neighboring towns, Pisac and Ollantaytambo. Numerous cafes and bars can be found around Plaza de Armas where La Esquina offers live musical delights. The cafes in the town are very low-priced. There exist a well-known market in the town and fresh vegetables and fruits are available here. Apart from these, the market also sells pans, pots and other useful items. A large sporting field can be found in this town to be used for football matches and to celebrate many festivals. An important festival held here is the festival of El Senor de Torrechayoc.
