Humacao is the largest city in Puerto Rico, located on the eastern coast of the island nation.
The land is mainly mountainous with deep gulches and the refreshing waters of the three rivers that flow in this area. The climate is tropical and temperatures remain in the mid-twenties round the year. This area also receives considerable rainfall.
Humacao has population of 62,300 people. Most of the population is of mixed Spanish origin. Other ethnic groups include the descendants of Africans, Amerindians and Asians.
The culture is a unique and vibrant mix of these various ethnicities. The main influences are from Spanish, Amerindian and American culture. Puerto Ricans are very proud of their national identity and traditions.
