Vieques is a beautiful tropical island paradise and has a lot to offer visitors. The most favoured tourist activity is to relax under the tropical sun next to the clear blue waters and breathtaking scenery. There are also a number of activities for the adventurous such as swimming, diving, fishing, snorkelling, bicycling and horse riding.
Also popular with the tourists are the many exotic flora and fauna nature tours on horseback, bicycles or kayaks through the Nature Preserve. Be sure to visit Mosquito Bay, one of the world’s few bioluminescent bays.
The Vieques Museum of Art and History is located inside a fully restored Spanish fort, the El Fortin Conde de Mirasol. This museum provides visitors with a fascinating insight into the history and culture of this island.
The Punta Mulas Lighthouse was built in another 1885 and is another unique attraction. From the top of the lighthouse you can obtain a magnificent view of the entire bay.
