The area of Cabo Polonio, mainly visited by tourists from Argentina, has a peculiar landscape characterized by sand dunes of high altitude on one side and the ocean on the other three sides. This completely uninhabited area is home to a large number of wild horses and sea lions that can be seen resting on the rocks along the beach.
Cabo Polonio is home to a number of beach huts that serve authentic Brazilian rum and the most exotic fish dishes.
The area near Cabo Polonio is surrounded by a forest of Ombu tress. The Ombu tree, which looks like an overgrown bush, is unique to the country. The surrounding region also has a number of restaurants, hotels and beach cafes that guarantee a unique dining experience. Some of the most popular hotels are Hosteria la Perla and Hotel MarieMar.
