Tourist Guide Canelones
The Uruguay Canelones department was founded in 1782 and contains three cities. Out of them, Canelones is the major one and the capital of the department. According to the 2004 census Canelones had a population of 19,631 out of which 96.3 males were present for every 100 males. 3.2 was the average household size. The average age span was 31.6. Canelones serves as an administrative office and also discharges duties as a manufacturing and commercial center for the agricultural city which provides grapes, cattle, sheep and sugar beets. The temperature is around 22 degree C with a relative humidity of 78%25. Agriculture provides a main source of income to the inhabitants of Canelones. Grapevine plantation and cultivation is widely done in the locality and this contributes to the prosperity of the growing wine industry. Maize cereals, vegetables and fruits are also produced in the area. A wine processing school is in Canelones. There is a railroad and highway taking one to the south to Montevideo.
