You can visit Punta del Este in the high season from December to March.
When you’ll be in Punta del Este you must visit the beautiful and spectacular beaches around. “La Barra” immediately east of Punta del Este, has beautiful beaches, very good food and delicious ice – cream.
The city is also known for its huge lagoons: “Del Sauce”, “Del Diario”; “Blanca”, “José Ignacio” y “Garzón”, each one with distinctive qualities for the practice of various sports.
Other attractions are: the “Faro de Punta del Este” , built in 1860 by Tomas Libarena ; the “Casa del Pueblo” , a modern art museum; the “Parcue El Jaguel” .
Punta del Este is famous for its delicious seafood. The local favourite dishes are: the “Chivitos” (steak sandwiches) and ”Asado” (steak).
Its climate is hot in summer with lots of sun, while in spring the media temperature change between 15° C to 20° C.
