Treinta y Tres, capital of the Department of Treinta y Tres, is located in eastern part of Uruguay. Situated on the left margin of Olimar River, the city was the former route from Montevideo to Branco River. The city has a total population of around 25,700 inhabitants.
Treinta y Tres enjoys a fairly uniform climate throughout the year. Extremes in temperatures are quite rare, and high humidity and fog are common.
Treinta y Tres, also known as Thirty and Three, was created under the presidency of Juan Francisco. The first school for children in Treinta y Tres was inaugurated in 1859.
Agriculture and cattle rearing are the most popular money earning sectors in Treinta y Tres. The city also manages to bring in a large amount of tourists every year.
