Plaza Camejo is an important site in the city. It houses the Barbarito Palace which is an architectural landmark and also serves as a museum. The San Fernando Cathedral is another important attraction in the city. Other sites of historical interest are Elorza, Achaguas, the Battlefield of Mucuritas, etc.
Similarly, the bridge on the River Apure is worth admiration. Places that would interest the nature lovers are the National Park Viejo River and the National Park at Tama. San Fernando is renowned for some of its picturesque cattle ranches such as those at Cedral, Pinero and so forth.
