In eastern Venezuela, the huge river delta of the Orinoco River is called as the Orinoco Delta. This is a region in the shape of a fan through which several distributataries of the Orinoco river flow and mix with the sea.
The Orinoco Delta is also called as the Deltaic System. It is one of the nine geographical areas of Venezuela.
The dry season is from January to April, the wet season from May to December with a yearly rainfall of 2000 mm and the average temperature is 26 degrees Celsius.
The population of this place is about 24,000.
The culture of this place is largely determined by the Warao Indians which are the native inhabitants of this delta. These people spend their daily life hunting and gathering objects in the surrounding forests, fishing in canoes in the distributaries of the Orinoco River and live in wooden houses raised on stilts.
