Tourist Guide Petare
Petare is located in Miranda of Venezuela and also forms part of the urban area of Caracas.
The city was founded in the year 1621 under the name of Sanjose Guabarito. Earlier the city was considered to be the suburb of Caracas but now has developed to the core of commercialization.
In the year 1621 captain Pedro de Lugo Gutierrez and priest Gabriel Mendoza founded this town . this town wa surrounded by lush greenery and mountain offering a majestic view. The word Petare is derived from Carib language that means face to the river.
The founders of this city were mostly from Canary Islands and built the village following the Spanish colonial urban planning. The land over proved to be successful and crops such as sugarcane, cocoa, maize and coffee were being produced. These formed the huge revenue earners for the people over here.
The climate over here is quite moderate and can be visited at any time of the year.
The population of this town comes to 369,000 according to 2006 census.
