Valencia was founded on 25 March 1555 by Captain Alonso Días Moreno. Valencia is located in the valley of the Coastal Range Mountains, about 150 km from Caracas. It is the capital of Carabobo, a state in Venezuela. With an area of 2, 323 sq km and a population of 1,400,000, Valencia is the fourth largest city in Venezuela. The city also served twice as the national capital in the years 1812 and 1830.
The city enjoys a tropical climate and can be visited at any time of the year; however, winters are a better time to visit since the weather during this season is being and pleasant.
Valencia is one of the leading industrial cities in the country with the economy being dependent on products like chemicals, vehicles, textiles and consumer goods. Similarly, its agriculture industry is also flourishing.
