Overview

Its so nice when the intensity of Christmas passes and there is time to enjoy going out to eat. The Dine Out San Francisco event is one restaurant week I really look forward to. The Best Local restaurants in Downtown, Union Square and SOMA make up most of the dining list. The Chefs in the Bay Area are so inventive and they always have a way of serving up new interesting preparations of the most delicious vegetables. I often choose the main course based on the accompaniments.   Last year I found out about One Market Restaurant and its been one of my favorites ever since.  I am hardly ever disappointed. The lunch prix fixe is only $17.95 and good for lunch meetings and keeping up with old co-workers who have ventured on to new offices but still work close by.   I use Restaurant Week as a chance to explore new restaurants  for dinner,  ones that I’ve read about in the Chronicle, and to go to those fancier ones that I normally...

Last year I found out about One Market Restaurant and its been one of my favorites ever since.  I am hardly ever disappointed. The lunch prix fixe is only $17.95 and good for lunch meetings and keeping up with old co-workers who have ventured on to new offices but still work close by.

I use Restaurant Week as a chance to explore new restaurants  for dinner,  ones that I’ve read about in the Chronicle, and to go to those fancier ones that I normally don’t think will fit my budget.

The French restaurants I find mentioned in the Michelin guide are usually my favorite, although this year I think I will try some of the new Indian ones I found mentioned in the restaurant reviews on Travel with Carnet.

There’s also a benefit tasting with proceeds going to the local chapter of meals on wheels. Hope to expand my culinary palette during the next 2 weeks. After that its back to soup and salads.
