Coimbatore, situated on the banks of river Noyyal, is the third largest city of Tamil Nadu.

The city is known as the Manchester of South India and is known for its textile factories, engineering firms, automobile parts manufacturers, health care facilities, educational institutions, and hospitality industries.

The Coimbatore city is the headquarters of the Coimbatore District and has a number of tourist destinations which makes it a perfect destination for holidaying.

It is a multi cultural city with temples, Church and mosques. The city attracts large number of tourists each year by its beauty.

The city has a large number of recreational clubs and tourist spots for the tourist to visit. Important clubs include Coimbatore Golf Club, The Cosmopolitan Club, The Coimbatore Club and the Coimbatore Flying Club.

The Coimbatore District also has two most important wildlife sanctuaries like the Madhumalai Sanctuary and Annamalai wildlife sanctuary.

One can also visit Udhagamandalam, popularly known as Ooty on the foothills of the Nilgiri Hills which once served as the summer capital of the British rulers in India and Kodaikanal, which is situated at the Southern tip of the Palini Hills and is one of the popular hill stations in South India.
