Peru is a generally cheap place to take a vacation, and its capital Lima is not an exception. The capital does not offer many museums and most of its attractions are in the streets and free for all.
Visit the Plaza Major in the heart of the capital, it is one of the largest squares in the world and don't be surprised if you feel overwhelmed. If you have the need of a museum the Modern Art one is one of the largest in South America, it features a plethora of South American artist you are likely to never have heard, expect surprises.
Walk around in the center for a while, it's a UNESCO world heritage and that a look to the balconies of the houses, a typical example of colonial architecture. They are so beautiful.
