According to these ratings, the northern end falls under the 'gentle 4' category. This means it is safe for swimming. On the other hand the southern end has got the rating of '7'. It is dangerous due to the rip current. The beach is protected with shark nets, which are placed underwater. This net stops the sharks from entering the swimming area. This is the best place for surfing.
