Broome is one of the most beautiful tourist and pearling towns of Australia in the Kimberley region of Western Australia. The residential population of the city is around 14,000 but this reaches 30,000 during the tourist season.

One of the popular landmarks of the city is Cable Beach where an underwater telecommunication cable to Singapore was laid. The pearling industry developed from the original harvesting of oysters for natural pearls to the present cultured pearl farming enterprise but many lost their lives in this venture.
Broome has a low latitude and a semi-arid climate. The city experiences a rainy season from December to March and a dry season from May to November.
The wet season has high humidity and erratic tropical downpours. Rain falls from January till March. Tropical cyclones and unpredictable summer weather with thunderstorms causes erratic rainfall. Frost does not occur here.

Reviews Broome

Overall Guide : Most of the attractions in Broome are clustered at one area. Chinatown has a mix of Colonial and Asian architecture, a reminder of Broome’s historical past. You can view Pearl Luggers, Steeter’s Jetty and Johnny Chi Lane to get a... more close insight into pearling. Most importantly, Chinatown is the city’s main shopping district. Take some good photographs of the incredible formations and colours at Gantheaume Point. You will also see the lighthouse and Anastasia’s Pool, a small pool that fills up during high tide. At low tide you may also get a chance to see a part of Anastasia’s Pool. Watch the Staircase to the Moon in the Town Beach Area. You will also see the wreck of a flying boat at low tide. See the collection of live shells at the Shell House of Guy Street. Other attractions to visit are Riddell Beach, Drovers Memorial, and Purnululu National Park. 800,000 birds are on view at the Broome Bird Observatory.
