Dates back to the eleventh century, it is known as the oldest church in Vienna and was built in the site of the Roman settlement of Vindobona. After the destruction of the Roman Vienna, the whole nucleus of the city was rebuilt around this church, which was destroyed and rebuilt several times during it's history. On Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays the church can also be visited in the afternoon, from 15:00 to 17:00.
