Sex Machines Museum in Prague
Greek prostitutes used to wear shoes with the words “come hither” engraved on the bottom, so as to send a message to potential customers to follow the footprints for a good time. This fun fact is perhaps the tamest thing you will learn at the Sex Machines Museum in Prague.
The museum describes itself as "an exposition of mechanical erotic appliances, the purpose of which is to bring pleasure and allow extraordinary and unusual positions during intercourse." It’s also the only museum in the word that is strictly dedicated to sexual mechanisms. It has three floors and approximately 200 different gadgets, all designed to facilitate sex acts. Some of the appliances were made as early as the 16th century, and the museum also exhibits some of the first pornographic films ever made.
Some things you will observe at the Sex Machines Museum include but are certainly not limited to, copulation tables, coercive chairs (made for “absolute domination”), electrical anti-erection shocking devices, chastity belts, harnesses of all kinds, and flexible dummies used for demonstrating how each machine works.
As you might guess, city officials objected to the museum’s disagreeable content when it opened. However, this ironically increased its popularity among tourists, making the museum a cult destination for travelers around the world.
