In downtown Cairo, around Midan Talaat Harb, you'll find a great place to sample dishes like FUL MEDAMES very typical (garlicky broad beans) or BAMYA (tangy okra) and KOSHARY of course. An experience for sure!!
In the Khan El-Khalili quarter if you fancy a shai bi na'naneh mint tea and some people watching in a relaxed atmosphere you're in the right place at Fishawi's. The food stalls around here sell the classic and tasty TA'AMIYA (falafel sandwich).
Some dining tips!
As with all Muslim societies stick to the right hand when touching food,as the left is considered unclean.
Alcohol is only served in upmarket hotels and restaurants and it will be less available during RAMADAN.
