El Gouna is a privately owned man-made resort along the Red Sea, in Egypt. This resort with a permanent population of approximately 10,000 inhabitants is a luxury resort with a distinct Arabian style.

Tawila and Gubal Islands are a boat ride away from El Gouna and are known for the diving and snorkelling on their beaches abounding with coral reefs. The impressive Monasteries of St. Anthony and St. Paul are also in the vicinity; they mirror the life of the people in the ancient times. For those looking to venture further away there are the ruins at the Porphyry Mountains and the well-preserved Roman site at the Mons Claudianus. It is also possible to make a day trip to Luxor to experience ancient Egypt.
