The Stone Bridge in Bordeaux was the first to be built on the river Garonne, in 1810-1822, under the rule of Napoleon Bonaparte. It is 486 meters long and 19 meters wide. It has seventeen arches (the exact number of letters in the name of the emperor) and occasionally the figure of Napoleon is confirmed in his honor by a white medallion.
