The Vielle charité is placed in the Panier district, in the second arrondissement of Marseille.Built in the XVII century and planned by Pierre Puget, the building used to house poor and needy people.
This monumental hospice belongs to the XVII architecture thanks to its baroque chapel and its ovoid dome. The portico and its Second Empire Corinthian columns were planned by Blanchet. The Vieille Charité is stretched along four wings of buildings opened towards a rectangular courtyard.
