Palais Rohan, designed by the King'sarchitect, Robert de Cotte in 1730 as the residence of the princes-bishops of Strasbourg, is now home to three major museums. When you visit Palais Rohan you can admire the architectural value of the building that houses the museums and the interesting collections of the Museum of Fine Arts, the Archaeological museum, and the Museum of decorative arts. The Museum of Fine Arts in Strasbourg offers important paintings of the Italian Renaissance, pottery and other artifacts in the Museum of decorative arts and the history of the area from 600,000 years BC in the Archaeological Museum.
