Calanques is a geologic formation which is in the form of a deep valley having steep limestone sides, partly submerged by the sea. Known as a Mediterranean fjord, Calanques offers a lot of recreational activities like swimming, boating and many more water sport activities for all. The CosquerCave is worth visiting with its walls covered with engravings and paintings that date back between 27,000 and 19,000 BC. The best time to visit Calanques is from March to May, when the temperature is fresh.
