Walls in Carcassonne
The City of Carcassonne is a medieval city with fortified walls in France. The entire city is fortified by these strong walls from the bygone era. The walls are mostly made from stone. There are many towers and turrets which make for a great picture. You feel you have been transported to the medieval times. You can walk along these walls or within the city and absorb imagery. The entire city is surrounded with Exterior walls and interior walls; it is also possible to walk between these two rows of walls. These walls have been declared world heritage site by UNESCO. The city has four doors that you enter through. There are tiny winding alleys that you can explore on foot. Within the walls there is a torture museum that has all the torture equipment from the medieval times; it is not the place for you if you are faint of heart. Cassoulet and Foie Gras are the local specialties in cuisine, so do try them if you visit this place.
