Place Bellecour isn’t just for the summer! On 8 December Lyon holds the festival of lights which lasts four days and takes over the entire city. During this festival, the beauty of the city and Place Bellecour is shown off by all the lights. It is the largest square in France. It houses a horse-mounted statue of Louis XIV, another statue of the Little Prince and Antoine de Saint-Exupéry, a fountain and the ''Office du tourisme".
In the winter they put up a 60-meter-high Ferris wheel, they take it down in March.
