The Old Heidelberg University was founded in 1368, and is considered as one of the oldest and the most prestigious buildings in Germany. This is an educational site, a history museum and also a historic walking area. Since 1899, it is a coeducational institution and has 12 faculties and offers degree programs, graduate and post doctoral and undergraduate levels in 100 disciplines.
