Stadtbibliothek in Stuttgart
It’s a large cube, bright white, externally lit. The Public Library of Stuttgart is a magnificent example of modern architecture in a strongly classical setting.
This building, a true cube, is divided into 9x9 parts on each side (which at night are individually lit, forming different images and designs every night), was designed by Eun Young Yi, and opened in 2011 to replace the old and no longer suitable headquarters of the city's libraries.
It houses more than a million volumes, many reading rooms and facilities of every kind, including the ability to borrow books 24 hours a day.
