Hamburger Dungeon in Hamburg
Information about Hamburger Dungeon in Hamburg: opening hours, how to get there, contact details
Hamburger Dungeon is an attraction deep in the ancient, dark dungeons of the historic general store of Hamburg. It’s a very special exhibition that covers an area of 500 m2, it’s half museum, half interactive chamber of horrors. We only recommend it for people who can hold their nerve!
In the dungeon you can see the most terrifying and frightening events of nearly 2,000 years in the history of Hamburg. The visitor is "seized" by actors and dragged into the abyss of the past, starting from the huge fire that ravaged Hamburg in 1842, then moving on to the vividly acted plague and cholera of 1892, and then on to meet the pirate Störtebeker.
A spectacular aquatic journey inspired by the dreadful sea storm of 1717 guarantees thrills and moments of genuine terror. The torture chambers are equipped with hot irons and all the most terrifying instruments imaginable. A visitor in search of excitement will not be disappointed by the dungeon! You are guaranteed to be terrified. Open all year.
