The museum sits on a small island of the River Isar. This island was used for wood rafting in the middle ages. The first dynamo engine by Siemens can be viewed in this museum. Besides this, one can see various musical instruments, historical printing presses, the first automobile by Benz and several electrical demonstrations. There are also some interactive models like coal mines and planetarium in the museum. Visitors can actually enter these models and learn more about stars and coal mining. The museum can be visited from 9 am- 5 pm daily except on public holidays
