Kubus, cube. This is the nickname of the Civic Museum of Art of Stuttgart, and it’s no coincidence. The building, newly opened in 2005, is contained in a huge transparent glass cube, which provides natural lighting during the day, and turns into a game of lights and shadows at night.

The project, by the Hascher and Jehle architect’s studio, has allowed the city's art collection (which includes works by Otto Dix) to be exhibited permanently in a purpose-built structure, which is also flexible, and leaves space for temporary exhibitions that are changed regularly.
