The two artificial lakes of the city are of great interest. They were created when a damm was built across the Alster and they are known as the Binnenalster and the Außenalster. They are located right in the center of the city and have become true symbols of the city .
For an unforgettable experience take a cruise on the two lakes, you can get on and off when you like and take time to admire the surrounding landscape.
The tour starts from Jungfernstieg, the main shopping street and one of the most lively areas. You’ll go through canals where you can see traditional houses.
At Christmas they put up a beautiful Christmas tree in the middle of the Binnenalster, which happens to be the more popular lake, even though it’s the smaller of the two.
