Botanical Gardens in Hamburg
The Hamburg Botanical Gardens offers visitors the chance to see countless types of plants: plants used for textiles, dyes, rubber, oil and sugar, cereals and mushrooms.
One of the attractions is the famous "strangler fig" of Cameroon, a plant that grows as a parasite around another, eventually causing it to die. You can also see the largest seed in the plant kingdom: the nut of the sea coconut, which weighs just under 20 kilos.
It’s a park which adds a little something more than other botanical gardens, it has many plants that are not normally seen in a metropolitan city like Hamburg.
