Stralsund along with Wismar is a historic coastal city situated in north east of Germany. This city is a historic city worth visiting for its role in the Hanseatic League in the 13th to 15th centuries and for its Swedish heritage of 17th and 18th centuries.
This medieval town has many religious buildings in north German brick gothic style that transports a tourist back to the hanseatic times. Rich in gothic religious architecture, the city center even survived World War II unharmed. Stralsund is a historic old town amidst water, which gives it an island feel, home to ports, ferries and sailors. The main interesting points here are the Brick Gothic which is a historical center and also a UNESCO World Heritage Site, other than the old market square along with the Gothic town hall and many other churches and old fashioned structures of the past periodical era.
