Ano Merà in Mykonos
Ano Mera is a small treasure trove of Mykonos, still partly undiscovered by mass tourism. It’s 8 km away from the main town of the island, but it maintains its style: white plaster and blue fixtures. Behind the village are the windmills of Kato Myli. Among the attractions of the village there is the small central square, overlooked by tavernas serving fine wine and Greek specialties. The Monastery of Panagia Tourliani hosts ancient Byzantine icons, and the Paleocastro (just outside the city center), of the twelfth century, is located in the vicinity of a Byzantine castle.
