The Big Buddha (Tian Tan Buddha the original name) is a large bronze statue, completed in 1993. The statue is located near Po Lin Monastery and symbolises the harmonious relationship between man and nature, people and religion. It is a major centre of Buddhism in Hong Kong, and is also a popular tourist attraction. A Zen atmosphere will make you understand that starts right from here the real China.
It is an enchanted place, where time seems to stand still, indeed, it seems like going back in time, at a time when silence, prayer, nature, spirituality were inseparable. The Big Buddha is a huge statue that stands on top of a hill. A commanding presence and also attractive. Flowers, old temples, the path of wisdom, everything seems to be at a standstill in many years ago.
