The Cave Church situated on Gellert Hill overlooks the Liberty Bridge in Budapest. It is a historic site to see with the grotto chapel which is looked after by the Hungarian Paulite order of Monks. For any person, this place offers a peaceful respite from the bustle of the city. Originally it was home of Saint Istvan, a hermit monk, who used to cure people with thermal waters that sprung in front of the cave. Founded in 1926, it got enlarged in 1930s by the Archbishop of Kalocsa. This place has a historic background to it which one can get to see on the displays and guided tours. The interiors, natural rock walls and niches with statues and altars are worth seeing.
