The Akkulam Lake is 3 kilometres from Thiruvananthapuram. It has a children’s park as well as... more boating facilities. The Koyikkal Palace dates back to the 15th century. It is situated on way to Ponmudi hill-station, 18 kilometres away from Thiruvananthapuram. The Napier Museum houses attractive costumes, ornaments, bronze items and carvings of Kerala dating back to the British era. Padmanabhapuram Palace is well known for its elegant and elaborated woodwork. It was the ancient palace of Travancore rulers and hence houses their remnants.
